Ladies Polo League, Longford - 28th-29th July

Maryanne · June 05, 2012, 22:53:07

Hello all,

The NCPC (polo committee) is running a Ladies Div at the Longford club champs this year, July 28th & 29th. I know UCD didn't have a girls team at the Ladies Day in Phibsborough, but I saw some girls playing on the Sat (and in Galway this weekend) so why not consider this comp too. As I was saying at the weekend...

Longford was definitely a social highlight of last year's polo calendar (playground, BBQ and pub right beside pitches! what more do you want) so please consider getting a team together. If you need any extra players or just info feel free to get in touch. The closing date for entries isn't set yet but I'm looking for an estimate of team numbers by the end of this month

Also there will be the usual divs so you can enter a mixed team too.

Sorry, handing in my Dissertation two days later, so wont have time, would have loved to go though!

Maryanne · June 05, 2012, 23:14:12

Ah, you'll be busy so!

I'm up for this, assuming nothing crazy comes up in the meantime, but it'd have to be very crazy since it's on at a weekend and shouldn't clash with any hypothetical working.

So, to the best of my knowledge, I'm in! And would apply for the car, which would mean I could give 3-4 people lifts.

MarieH · June 05, 2012, 23:45:55

I'd love to give it a go so count me in

DervM · June 05, 2012, 23:48:39

Would love to come along for fun anyway

. Hopefully I'll be able to play by then!

and ill drive, but cant bring boats (dad nearly killed me when he found out i was planning on it, apparently my cars too small...)

Annie was telling me that the pitches are literally next to the campsite and a pub..... and thats all you need!!

EllenMcG · June 06, 2012, 13:36:33

Did you have to laugh at loads of dad jokes? Maybe, make a few? I hope your not too scarred.
On behalf of the club, thank you for your selflessness at this time.
(Yay! Great stuff!)

Nah I didn't have to try to hard, I made him eggs this morning and once he was full I had him in the palm of my hand

we can only fit like 5/6 max on it so tents will be needed! but as far as cooking etc. goes ya'll are welcome aboard!

kmck · June 06, 2012, 20:06:32

I read Barge as euphemism for the family car!

Diarmuid · June 06, 2012, 21:13:58

class Ellen, just class

I'll bring my amazing leaky, non fire retardant, phone killing tent.

HelenaC · June 07, 2012, 09:36:46

So who else is interested?

The Ladies league will probably just be run on the Sunday, but I would suggest staying for the whole thing as it'll be deadly craic!

I'll be putting the entry in tomorrow, so please confirm asap. There's a new post about to be put up too about the DIV.3 entry which will have a bit more info - have a looksie over there.

Diarmuid · July 15, 2012, 15:26:54

i'll play for the ladies team please
