Week 11: Assessments
« on: November 21, 2016, 13:33:37 »
Where: RDS Simmonscourt
When: Sat 26th November
Plan:
Pull an all nighter the night before and count on continuous assessment to pull us through

... Not really  ^-^ !

So, this weekend we are running Assessments for all you hardened paddlers to step things up a level, officially!
Level 2 and Level 3 assessments are taking place. Everyone should get out and give it a go!
For any freshers on the fence: come to a pool session this week and anyone will be a round to give you one or two pointers. You will be more then ready to shine! :)

The plan (for real this time) is:
- Meet at the boathouse at 10am
- We'll be heading to the Boyne to show off our skills
- And the only difference is that you will need to bring €15 ( the extra 5 is  the fee for assessment)

And what to bring?

Warm clothes….you know the drill!!!! The chilly winter weather is really starting to be felt out on the rivers. When in doubt….add another layer…or three!

•   A pair of old shoes! (Or wet booties if you have them)

•   Towel and warm, dry clothes for afterwards!

•   Some hot stuff! NOM, NOM, NOM. You’ll be trying so hard to impress those instructors, you’ll work up an appetite in no time ;-) Make sure to bring food – chocolate, cereal bars, etc. – with you. Flasks of tea or hot juice are always really appreciated!

Sign-up closes at 12pm Thursday so get your name sown before then to secure your spot. Throw down what level you are going for- two or three (if you know) and if you can make it.

Paddlers Assemble!

I should be able to make it.

Will someone be able to let me into the boathouse a little early that morning (9.30 lets say?) so that the Canadian can be mended?

On the off chance I can't go, can I not be counted towards bus numbers? I can drive myself if needs be in the end. Also, who wants to come in the Canadian with me?
