Camping in Easkey for the long weekend
« on: May 28, 2017, 23:20:43 »
I'm going to Easkey with a few others for the long weekend. The plan is to camp and kayak surf. I haven't been there in years but I hear the area has been tidied up and the toilets and castle are now easily accessible.

Its a really cool spot and if it rains loads we can paddle the Easkey river right out to the surf.

Location is here https://www.google.ie/maps/place/Easky,+Co.+Sligo/@54.2913185,-8.9560496,3a,60y,293.67h,78.09t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s4KBgsLX2WlTFjuxVk36YIA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!4m5!3m4!1s0x485ed2987a82ae73:0xa00c7a99731aab0!8m2!3d54.286325!4d-8.9623692

Loads of tent space. Surfed the best waves I have ever seen on Saturday. Really good surf on Friday and Sunday.

Toilets are open from 9.30 ish to 21.30 ish and they are cleaned daily. Water tap beside the toilet block.
