Thanks for organising Rodge!
I can't do the 28th but I could do the Sunday, also if it was put back a week, I can't do the 7/8th weekend either. It might be best for you to take my place on one of these weekends :)

Valentines Weekend......... Are you nuts???????  ;D I'll have to pull some major strings on that one and get back to you (I'm only just back from a Snow trip to Austria). Put me down as tentative.

Hey Roger,

I'd be keen to do one of those courses too if it's not too late.

I really need to spend more of my workday dossing on the board  so I don't keep missing stuff ;)

Just look at my Avatar would you.........

And I don't know what a "latch key kid" is. Must be a Mullingar thing or else a cartoon that Zoe would like. The Latch Key Kids meet Peppa Pig. It's a winner.

Ok Guys, just finished exchanging a few mails with Ciaran Maguire.

What? We've organised a weekend for a training course geared towards the likes of what you need to work on to be on the road to ICU L5 standard.

When? The prelimanery weekend for this will be the last day in February, 1st day in March, i.e saturday the 28th of Feb and Sun 1st of March.

Where? The weekend will be based in Kerry, with probably the glens on day 1 and the flesk on day 2. Staying the saturday night in a hostel probably.

Who? Instructor: Ciaran Maguire, Group: So far its Mark Ahern, Conor Croke, Brendino, and Sara Hayden.

How Much? Depending on how much the hostel costs, i'd say €50 each, may be more may be less.

Ciaran's already put a prelimenary program together, but is keen to work on whatever you guys feel you would benefit most from, so I suggest we meet up for a chat sometime and put together some suggestions so that you guys get the best value from the weekend.

Any other questions, post up here or pm me and i'll get back to you. Thanks for everyones enthusiasm and help for this, and thanks to Dave B.

As for the advanced white-water skills/rescue I will keep people updated as to the progress of this.

Cheers, Roger .

Is it just a weekend of training geared towards the L5 training or is it actually an official L5 training weekend? Why not run it as an L5 training weekend?

€50 for a L5 Training Course, I'd jump on it at that price! Also Kudos Roger, I'm well impressed with this.

Apparently you need to apply to the ICU to run an official L5 training, we might still do that, the training program itself is still in early days.
